Jason Bliss MBA ’02, JD ‘03

I still live in Austin, Texas happily in my 21st year of marriage with my wife, Neilia. We have four kids (Gabrielle (17), Holt (16), Ryan (13), and Evelyn (11)) and spend a lot of time on Lake LBJ beating the Texas summer heat and now escaping viruses. I oversee Corporate Development and Legal for an IT software company called SolarWinds. Wishing everyone the best in these times!

Brook Bock MBA ‘05

I am currently Chief Product Officer for Vanco Payments, as well as home teacher, cleaner, and chef. I live in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, with my two beautiful daughters, ages 11 and 9, and our puppy, Wilde. We play a lot of soccer and enjoy our frequent walks to the beach. We hope all of our Fuqua friends are doing well in these unprecedented times.

I'm based in New York City working at Citigroup as a digital product manager responsible for the Consumer Bank's cross-border money transfer solutions. While work is remote due to COVID, I'm quarantining and practicing "social distancing" with my partner in San Jose, CA.

Katherine Hutton ’05, MBA ‘11

Today, I live with my family in Pinehurst, NC. My husband and I have three children who are 4.5, 2.5, and 9 months old. We have lived "near" the Fuqua campus in Pinehurst for about 2 years, and I love it. We have taken the kids to campus several times, and my daughter is a big fan of mommy's school. If you ask her what my favorite color is, she will say Duke blue. In terms of career, I entered into the security world after I graduated from Fuqua. I'm now focusing on cybersecurity in particular and will finish a master’s degree in the subject later this year.

I’m living in San Francisco and working as a Product Manager with Visa’s Innovation Group, helping banks and merchants build future products through human-centered design. Like many, I’m currently developing my home sourdough baking skills. I’m looking forward to re-connecting with my Dukies next year at our re-scheduled 10 year reunion!

I am in Dallas, TX working in customer experience at American Airlines—quite the place to be in these days! Since travels have been put on hold, I have been enjoying spending time in the place I have called home for almost three years now. Looking forward to exploring new destinations later this year and reuniting with Fuqua friends as well!

Julie MaGill MBA ‘00

I have been at Google NYC for the past nine years and counting. I split my time between Maplewood, NJ, and Ocean Grove, NJ, these days (moreso Ocean Grove now that I'm working from home for the foreseeable future!). I am also in the process of launching a personal coaching business, Aligned Mind Coaching LLC, which has been fun and exciting. Hoping all of you and your families are well and safe in this COVID era.

John Peretti MBA ‘15

Like almost everyone, the most accurate answer to where I am is "somewhere between FaceTime and Zoom.” In the real world, whatever that is, I've been out in the SF Bay area since graduation and recently made the move across the bridge to Oakland. COVID-19 caught me right in the middle of a major house remodel (never start a remodel with a pregnant wife...the house won't be ready before the baby is!). I'm looking forward to finishing the house and getting back to work on my camping equipment startup (also on hold due to foreign travel restrictions). And in the meantime (quarantine-time?), I'm running the highest overhead daycare with my lovely 7 month-old daughter, who's getting a real head start on her core classes #Fuqua2040.

I am currently in Lake Forest, IL—a suburb of Chicago—where we've been based for the last ten years. I'm loving my job as COO at Wheels Inc., while taking advantage of the increased family time with our two boys afforded by the current lockdown. I hope my fellow Fuqua alums all over the world are doing well, and I wish everyone a blessed year ahead.

I am currently in Apex, NC. I moved here in 2014 as I joined my classmate at his textile company based out of Raleigh. With the uncertainty from the pandemic unraveling everything we have worked so hard to build, I am focusing on learning new skills such as building Cloud applications on Amazon AWS. With the business travel off my schedule, I am enjoying all the time, focus, and energy I am able to put towards family, gardening and self-improvement. Message to self: This too shall pass!

After Duke, I moved to San Francisco to pursue my dream career in marketing analytics and data science. Over the past two years since graduation, I have always loved to stay in touch with the Duke community by joining NorCal regional events and coming back to campus. This year, I am excited to celebrate my birthday with my boyfriend, who is a physician scientist at Duke Health.
