We asked the alumni below celebrating a birthday today, August 15, "Where are you now?" Here's what they said...

Laura Bayzle MBA ‘07

I'm living in Raleigh, NC and am a Vice President with The Link Group, a market research consultancy, where I specialize in qualitative marketing research. Outside of work, I'm deeply involved with the arts community in Raleigh, serving on the boards of Carolina Ballet and North Carolina Arts in Action. I've also been working with Duke Professors, Dr. Cheryl Lin and Dr. Pikuei Tu, as part of the Duke Bass Connections Program in helping them uncover RA patients' feelings, behaviors, self-perception and rationalization in taking long-term medications, specifically around medication non-adherence. I have two children (ages 7 and 5) and have just celebrated 15 years of marriage!

Originally from Bangkok Thailand but now station in Jakarta, Indonesia for the past 2 years expanding new business for Thai Conglomerate called SCG (sponsored my MBA program). I focus mainly on Construction materials industry.

Jarrett Lewis MBA ‘17

I am working in Alexandria, VA (just outside of DC) as a partner at Public Opinion Strategies, a national public opinion research firm. I work on the public affairs and corporate side of our practice (the other side of our firm is in political campaigns) and I am specifically focused in the healthcare industry. I made a somewhat unexpected job change last winter, leaving the healthcare consulting firm I had been at for nearly a decade for this opportunity. But, I love healthcare and I love survey research (I started my career at this firm in 2007 and built a survey/market research division for hospital systems at my previous firm). People often think of polling in the context of elections (i.e., who is going to win, which has had some mixed results over the last few years), but that is a very small part of what I do. My work is much more rooted in the strategy of how move a population (e.g., developing a strategy to help a hospital system with patient acquisition/retention, etc.) or pinpoint what attributes about an organization resonate the strongest with the market. It gives me the chance to constantly travel the country and work with different organizations/talk to different consumer groups.

On the personal side, my wife and I live with our 16 month old son Wyatt and our dog Jackson in Alexandria and we love the area. Alexandria is undergoing a lot of growth (even before Amazon decided to drop HQ2 nearby) and we are loving the influx of new shops and terrific restaurants that have accompanied the growth. Finally, I am getting together with my Fuqua team from terms 1 and 2 this coming weekend in Richmond. We are all very close (one professor even said we had the best functioning team he had ever seen at Fuqua) and still get together a few times a year - Team Fuqua continues to be strong with us!

Yixuan (Elisa) Su MMS ‘18

I am married to an incredible Duke grad and classmate, Jay Young (AB, Public Policy '94), and am trying to keep up with our energetic 10 year old son and 7 year old daughter in the western suburbs of Chicago. Go Blue Devils!
