Happy Birthday!
We asked the alumni below, celebrating a birthday today, December 16, "Where are you now?" Here's what they said...
Tenea Miller Albright MBA '20
I am in Atlanta, GA, with my husband and 8-month-old daughter. I just accepted a role as Associate Director, Global Program Management at Takeda based in Cambridge, MA, and will relocate there eventually.
Chetan Goyal MS '98, MBA '04
My wife, Alicia, and I live in the suburbs of St. Louis, MO, with our sons, Rajan and Krishan. I started my post Fuqua career with Anheuser-Busch and ten years ago switched to Edward Jones, where I am currently the Assistant Treasurer.
Blake Hamilton MBA '20
I am currently living in Indianapolis, IN, with my partner, Nick, and our foster kiddo, Cortnee, whom we would LOVE to adopt! I have been with Eli Lilly & Company seven years and currently am the HR Director for our U.S. Diabetes Commercial and Connected Care Business Units. While I do enjoy my career, most of our time is usually spent with extended family, traveling, cooking, and, most importantly, eating.
Sheri Hebbeln MBA '87
Greetings from wine country. I've been in Napa, CA, with my husband, John, since 2002 and am currently working for a company that provides logistics and fulfillment services to wineries. We have two kids who are both living and working in L.A. Jake graduated from Duke in 2016 and Rachel got her Ph.D. from CalTech last year. Best wishes to all and looking forward to our next reunion!
Sam Lin MBA '15
Hello, Team Fuqua, and greetings from Greater Boston! We just welcomed our second daughter to the world on December 6th and are enjoying the holiday season. My company, PharmaEssentia USA, just got approval for the first and only treatment for a rare blood cancer (polycythemia vera) that patients can take regardless of previous therapies. This has been an exciting milestone over a decade in the making, and we look forward to further engaging with Team Fuqua to see how we can help the patient community. All the best to our Fuqua Family!
Meaghan Maguire MBA '19
Right after WEMBA ‘19 wrapped in December 2019, I secured a new job leading business development and strategic partnerships for an education technology startup called Desmos. It's been a wild ride, having joined just as the COVID-19 pandemic was upending the world, and more acutely, altering the daily learning experiences for students and teachers around the world who use Desmos. I've learned a ton in the 1.5 years here, and it's been fun to work and contribute on a small team managing products with a large and growing global reach. I'm still living in the D.C. area, where I attempt to get outside and explore/hike/bike whenever I can. Looking forward to 2022 bringing more opportunities to reconnect with classmates!
Marlon Mathews MBA ‘05
I worked at Citi for 8 years post-Fuqua and have been at MUFG for the last 8 years. I recently moved from Manhattan to Jersey City, NJ, and will be going back to the office in January. In my spare time, I hop on planes for long weekends and am trying to get my handicap below 8.
Alysha McFall MBA '21
I am back in my hometown of Atlanta, GA, with my husband, Fitz, and our two sons, Ayden (6) and Ollie (3). I graduated from Fuqua in May and started working at Microsoft as a Product Marketing Manager in July. We moved to Atlanta instead of Seattle on faith to wait out the pandemic near family and we recently found out we get to stay permanently! I am turning 30, which is a big milestone birthday! I am grateful to spend it near friends, family, and my Fuqua family in Atlanta.
Shannon Parker MBA '21, MEM '21
After graduation in May 2021, I stayed in Durham. Over the summer I sold the company I founded while at Fuqua, Carbon Insights. I then accepted a new role as the VP of Operations and Sustainability at Circ, a small circularity focused startup that recycles clothing. My partner, Curtis, and I recently adopted a 12-week-old puppy named Maggie, who has just been the best addition. We are looking forward to spending December down in Florida, camping and traveling in the sunshine before planning an adventure back to Australia sometime next year.
Bhawna Johar Pettigrew MBA '07
After graduating, I spent over 10 years working in New York City. My husband, Steven, and I then moved across the country to the Bay Area (only a week after getting married). We have a son, Myles, who was born right before the pandemic hit (talk about a quarantine baby). I decided to take a break from working in Fintech to care for him. We are now in the midst of our second cross country move, this time to my hometown of Washington D.C. (we also bought a house without ever seeing it). I’m excited to be back near family and would love to connect with other Fuquans soon. I also hope to be back working again sometime in the new year.
Anna Ramanathan MBA '07
I work in Medical College of GA as Director of Administration for Family Medicine. Made a material transition from for-profit to non-profit setting in the last 10 years. Being an aid to the larger goodness of training next generation physicians to offer the best clinical care for patients with and without means nourishes me. Skills learned from my Fuqua MBA have consistently proven helpful.
Sarada Sagi MBA '20
I live in New Jersey, with my husband, Phaneendra, and our boys, Aditya (13) and Srikar (10). We have been living in the Garden state for past 14 years, and we are blessed to have an extended family around us here. I am currently working at a retirement financial services organization as VP of Data engineering and Business Intelligence. As we wrap up this year, my best wishes to alumni across the globe and cheers to New year!
Jeff Stafeil MBA '98
Greetings, Fuqua class of 98! Lots of life changes since graduation! Living in a nice community outside of Detroit, MI, and have three children (plus two step children), and everyone is doing well. Two kids are in college, but unfortunately not at Duke (but great schools!). I gravitated back into the finance world after leaving Fuqua and have been a CFO for a variety of public automotive suppliers for many years. If anyone is traveling through the Detroit area, please look me up!
Dick Tinsley MBA '89
I have been retired from McLeod Health for 3.5 years. I am living in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Brynne Zuccaro MBA '05
After spending almost two decades in NYC, I finally moved...across the river to Jersey City. I love exploring "Chilltown" and the rest of NJ with my husband and kids (ages 5 and 7). Professionally, I've enjoyed helping to build fast-growing startups in various sectors including advertising, finance, education, and trucking. To my awesome classmates—if you're ever in the area, would love to reconnect! Wishing everyone a healthy and happy holiday season.
