We asked the alumni celebrating a birthday today (October 15), "Where are you now?" Here's what they said:
Frederick Anlyan '70, MBA '79
I live in Marin County, California, where I sell residential real estate. I enjoy yoga, mountain biking, and dance classes, particularly West Coast Swing. I love to hear from old friends on Facebook!
Larry Bressler MBA '99
I recently accepted a new position as the Senior Director/US Launch Lead for an Orphan Drug with Shire in Boston. I was previously the Senior Director for Pediatric Vaccine marketing at Glaxosmithkline in Philadelphia. I am married and have two boys, ages 11 and 6. While I currently live in the Philadelphia suburbs, my family and I will be moving the Boston area in early 2016.
Nate Jaffee MBA '10
I'm based in Austin, TX. I got married last October and am the Head of Brand Strategy for Praytell, a creative agency with offices in New York, San Francisco and Austin. Praytell is a small, growing shop: we're two years old, 32 employees and this year were named PR Week's boutique agency of the year and best place to work. We focus on PR, Social Media and Digital work and I get to work on a mixture of established global brands like Twitter, Corona, and Hyatt as well as some ambitious startups like SoundCloud, Amino, Gametime, Splice and others that (hopefully) you'll hear more about soon.
Kit Nowlin MBA '11
Bentonville, Arkansas. After 11 years with Walmart, I started exploring startup and investment opportunities while consulting in the retail services space. Most recently, I co-founded AIM Brands, to help new products and brands sell into the world's largest retailers online and in store. In addition to sales and service, AIM Brands looks for innovative products and retail service and technologies and helps to raise funds and grow the client base through our broad retail and CPG network. My wife, Jennifer, and our two kids, Connor (8) and Allison (4), welcomed our newest son Jake (2) who we adopted from Gansu, China in August.
Andy Platt MBA '00
I opened an office for my firm in London about a year ago. I am spending most of my time in Spain making real estate investments.
Ali Tadlaoui MBA '86
My wife and I run a small qualitative research consultancy called The Thought Bubble. We live in the Dallas area with our 12 and 9-year-old girls. Life revolves around them, but I've been finding time recently to work on launching a brand of running wear. Fuqua got me into marketing, and I haven't stopped finding outlets for it.
Azim Uddin MBA '13
I am in Chicago, working with a client on a global tax system evaluation. I fly between client locations globally and reside in New Jersey.
Rebecca Yu MBA '11
I'm actually currently on maternity leave as I've just had my first child-a baby boy-three weeks ago on September 23! My husband, Chris Kearney MBA '12, and I are enjoying our time at home with him despite the many sleepless nights. Professionally, I'm at Bank of America in Chicago working in a strategy group for the Consumer Bank. My team handles projects that impact operations for our banking centers. I'll return to work after New Year's, but in the meantime, I am loving my time at home with my son!
