Fuqua’s pool of international talent possesses the cultural acumen and expertise needed to effectively navigate the complexities of global business. With 40% of our students originating from international backgrounds spanning more than 45 countries, Fuqua students embody a rich cultural diversity and the ability to strengthen your organization with valuable perspectives and insights.

Fuqua’s international students are eligible for summer internship positions without requiring visa sponsorship, as they are authorized to work under the Curricular Practical Training (CPT) program.

Upon graduation, students without permanent U.S. work authorization may apply for 12 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT) for full-time employment without a visa. Students with STEM designation can extend their OPT for up to 3 years. Beyond OPT, continued work in the U.S. requires sponsorship for an H-1B visa.

Duke University Visa Services is committed to partnering with prospective employers to understand the employment authorization options available to our students before and after degree completion. For more information on F-1, J-1 and H-1B visa categories, please visit Duke Visa Services.
