Sasha Indarte is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. She conducts research in macroeconomics, household finance, and financial intermediation, with a focus on financial distress and crises. Her current work investigates the importance of moral hazard versus liquidity in driving household bankruptcy by comparing the impact of debt forgiveness versus debt payment reductions on filing.
Professor Indarte completed her Ph.D. in Economics at Northwestern University. Before her doctoral studies, she worked as an Associate Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and received a B.A. in Economics and Applied Mathematics & Statistics at Macalester College.
