Bio
I am a financial economist operating at the intersection of macroeconomics, investment strategy, and quantitative methods.
For many years I taught at UNC Chapel Hill, with appointments in the Economics Department and the Kenan Flagler Business School. I am passionate about experiential education. Some of my greatest teaching experiences have come in nontraditional experiential settings, such as the Fed Challenge, Credential in Quantitative Financial Economics, and the Fiscal Challenge. In 2018 I expanded my teaching duties to Duke, starting within Fuqua's MQM program. I have since had the pleasure of working with students within Fuqua's MSQM, MMS, WEMBA, and GEMBA programs, as well as the undergraduate students within the Economics Department.
My research focus and private practice overlap with my teaching interests. I tend to see the world from a "top down" perspective, applying my macro/finance/quant skills to roles such as a Chief Investment Officer, Research Director, and Founder/President of several companies. I leverage what I learn from these professional experiences to enhance what I can offer students in my classes.
