Why I Chose Fuqua

Through my experiences before attending Fuqua – both in and out of the classroom – I have come to appreciate the value of a great team. Fuqua was the only school that focused on that. In addition, the curriculum was very well-designed for my needs and interests.

Before Fuqua

My work experience at both a nonprofit and a manufacturing company taught me two major things – the value of a great team and the importance of analytical skills. The MQM program gives me the best of both worlds!

After Fuqua

Since I enjoy both problem solving and communication, I hope to apply the analytics skills I’ve gained from the MQM program into a career that will allow me to do both. Eventually, I want to open my own nonprofit.

My MQM Track

Through the strategy track, I am learning more about the role of analytics in business strategy, especially in my interest areas of operations and marketing. My core team on my track has three Chinese and one Egyptian national, and all of us come from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds. Working in teams has been my favorite experience so far at Fuqua and I can truly say that your team soon becomes family – that challenge you while supporting your every step of the way!

My Favorite Durham Restaurants

  1. Viceroy for amazing Indian food
  2. Alpaca for their Peruvian-style chicken and a divine green sauce to dip it in
  3. Kanki for hibachi-style Japanese food.
  4. Devil’s pizzeria – the best pizza near campus
  5. Last but not least, West Union for the variety in the food court
