“Fuqua's Center for Energy, Development, and the Global Environment (EDGE) is by far the most important professional resource for me here. Attending conferences and participating in discussions, I've built a broad network within the renewable energy industry. Having such extensive resources including the Duke Energy Initiative has enabled me to quickly integrate into the American energy industry."

Why I Chose Fuqua

My two reasons are: 1) Team Fuqua, and 2) Passion for the energy industry.

Team Fuqua was the main driver in my business school decision. It was an easy choice after I was able to meet so many Fuquans while applying. People are deeply engaged with their communities and they are trying to achieve the best results and create a better world, not just a better business.

Second, our passion for the energy industry and the many resources available at Fuqua made it an even easier choice. I ended up enrolling for an MPP/MBA dual degree. I am concentrating in energy finance and energy & environmental policy to develop a broader skillset and explore other areas for my future.

Five Restaurants You Won't Want to Miss in Durham

  1. Bali-Hai – simple but great
  2. Bleu Olive – great Mediterranean
  3. Cook-Out – a classic for after Shooters
  4. La Vaquita – great tacos and a lovely spot
  5. Maggiano’s – I know, it’s a chain restaurant, but their Durham lasagna is fabulous

Before Fuqua

As a lawyer from ITAM, an economics powerhouse in Mexico, I started my career in M&A and Project Finance. With the enactment of the Mexican Energy Reform in 2013, I specialized in the energy industry and moved to a role as Senior Associate in an Energy & Infrastructure consulting firm in Mexico City.

After Fuqua

I plan to stay within the energy and infrastructure industries focusing on large-scale deployment of renewable energy and building a more sustainable infrastructure for the next generation. I will use my diverse skillset and the business acumen, plus my experience in regulatory affairs, to accelerate the shift to clean energy and the electrification of things.

“I never thought I would have an internship where I could learn so much in only 3 months, deliver amazing results for the company, and be happy. Working at Apex Clean Energy provided me with a fantastic opportunity to work hard, make an impact, and have a blast during the summer.”
