“The diversity in the Fuqua community changes one’s perspective on how we perceive every single person we meet, both here and even outside of Fuqua. My time here has made me a well-rounded leader - more empathetic, open to new ideas, and definitely a better listener.”

Why I Chose Fuqua
One of the senior leaders I admired a lot in my previous organization was a Fuqua alumnus and his leadership style was really distinct. He was so kind and empathetic as a leader that it shaped my understanding of leadership and helped me realize the type of leader I want to be. I chose Fuqua for the emphasis our school puts on decency in business (DQ) and the values that make our community unique. After spending the past year at Fuqua, I can say with a lot of certainty that this was the best decision I made for my career and personal growth, and if I were to do it all over again, I’d choose Fuqua each time.
Five Favorite Fuqua Activities
- FuquaVision shows
- Hanging out with classmates and their families at Fuqua Fridays
- Wine Around the World
- Happy hours with my team at the JB Duke Hotel
- Reflection time at Sarah P Duke Gardens or the Duke Pond
Before Fuqua
I was a researcher at Gartner’s human capital practice.
After Fuqua
I will be working at Boston Consulting Group in Chicago. A critical skill all employers value is the ability to successfully work with peers from diverse backgrounds, and my time at Fuqua has taught me so much about working with others successfully, and leading and influencing without direct authority. I am excited to apply the learnings to my career after Fuqua.
