My coworker tells me about a business trip that he recently took to Amsterdam. I found the cultural differences quite interesting!
My husband, Eric Briggs, and I enjoy a cup of coffee before work. We check out The Economist and often talk about the articles and current events.
Catching up with my team. I generally share information from my past experience as a Systems Engineer in order to help them prepare for their roles.
My coworker and I strategize on a project. I’ve been impressed with how often I use material that I learned at Duke in my work.
I catch up on work and school e-mails, and check the Duke Platform. I may take a couple minutes here and there to check Facebook as well!
Eric and I often visit a nearby bookstore after work because he likes to read, I need time to study, and we avoid rush-hour traffic.
I love to cook and experiment with new recipes. It is relaxing, and helps me stay healthy. Cooking has also taught me to be more efficient.
Our friends visit for dinner and drinks. Eric and I have a “no-schoolwork evening” to spend time with each other and friends/family.
Meeting with my direct reports at Cisco Systems. I manage a team of US and International Associate Systems Engineers within a year-long training program.
My husband and I both work in Research Triangle Park. We often carpool in order to help the environment and save on mileage and gas.
