Bio

Murray is a Vice Chairman of JP Morgan’s EMEA Mergers & Acquisitions Group. He has 30 years of investment banking experience with a wide range of clients on all aspects of corporate advisory work, including leading the sale of over 55 businesses in 19 countries ranging in size from below 100M USD to in excess of $4 BN USD.

Murray was born in South Africa and came to the UK to take ‘A’ levels at Rugby School. In 1980, he completed a degree in Economics and Accounting at Bristol University. He later joined Peat Marwick McLintock (now KPMG) and qualified as ACA, had his first banking role at Hill Samuel, then BZW before moving to a corporate finance boutique, Hambro Magan, in 1989, which was sold to NatWest Markets in 1996. In 1998, he joined Lehman Brothers, then in 1999 Chase Manhattan (now JPMorgan Chase).

In the autumn of 2012, Murray completed the Advanced Management Program at The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He lives in London and is married with one daughter and two sons.
