Why I Chose Fuqua

I wanted to go into consulting. However, with a social science background, I was having a lot of difficulties finding a consulting job. I not only needed to learn more business skills but also needed a place that would provide extensive career resources. Additionally, as I have lived in both the United States and China, I found the MMS: Duke Kunshan University program ideal for my personal and career aspirations. I visited the Duke Kunshan campus, and I fell in love with the atmosphere and the beautiful modern architecture.

I started an initiative called the iFriend program. I paired MMS students from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds, and they taught each other their language. Student interest drove this effort, with around 30 people signing up. Classmates not only learned languages, but they also made international friends!

I’ll be working as an Associate Consultant at my dream company, Bain & Co. in Atlanta. Without my peers who helped me prepare for case interviews, and without resources and support from the Career Management Center, I definitely would not have succeeded in my interviews.

What I Love About the MMSA

I serve as the Co-President of my class in the MMS Association (MMSA), and I absolutely love working with this group! This student government organization serves as a liaison between the student body and the administration. In other schools, student government may be bureaucratic and have limited access to resources. At MMSA, everyone has an equal voice, and the administration is extremely supportive. Working at MMSA has given me an opportunity to engage with students from other sections, as well as the faculty and staff. I feel genuinely fulfilled looking at how much our work has helped enrich MMS students’ experiences.
