“Although I grew up a Duke Men’s Basketball fanatic, the chance to join the Cameron Crazies wasn’t the thing that excited me most about Fuqua. The top-tier faculty and staff, comprehensive course content at a rigorous pace, and multiple positive reviews from recent alumni made Fuqua the ideal environment to both continue my education and advance my career."

Why I Chose Fuqua

Every recent graduate I connected with said the knowledge and network they gained at Fuqua helped their careers tremendously.  Now that I’m here, I have witnessed firsthand what they meant. Our 2019 MMS cohort includes students from 28 different countries, allowing us to learn as much from each other culturally as we do academically. Furthermore, our MMS program directors have an unwavering passion to promote our development and well-being, while our professors are the same ones who teach the MBA students.

Before Fuqua

After undergrad, I spent a year exploring football (soccer) organizations in seven countries through the Watson Fellowship. Upon returning to the U.S., I coached college soccer at my alma mater and worked for the College Advising Corps helping underrepresented, low-income, and first-generation college students enroll in college.

After Fuqua

I am thrilled to develop the next stages of my career as a consulting analyst for Kennedy & Company, based in Washington D.C. As part of the Kennedy & Company team, I will apply lessons learned through MMS courses (such as Strategy, Managerial Accounting, and Business Communications) to add value to higher education institutions as they navigate their most pressing challenges and opportunities.

What I Love About Professor Mark Brown

As the Director of Fuqua’s Management Communication Center and an international business consultant, Mark never let his busy lifestyle get in the way of effectively teaching our 16-person Business Communications course. Mark’s teaching style was relatable and easy to understand, yet challenging all the same. He delivered content in a way that kept the class intrigued, while regularly revisiting the fundamental principles of the course. Mark’s stories were forever a highlight. When we heard, “Have I told you the story about…”, we all knew we were in for a treat.
