“My Fuqua team taught me that it’s not enough to have different backgrounds and life experiences. What really matters is how you harness that diversity by building mutual trust, understanding, and ultimately, relationships that will last long after Fuqua.”

Why I Chose Fuqua

When I was applying to business schools, I was looking for programs that saw business as a means to create individual success, but also as an imperative engine to create positive societal impact. From my research on the curriculum, career planning, and the Center for Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE), Fuqua became an obvious top choice. I knew I was sold on Fuqua when I met my potential classmates at Blue Devil Weekend. I was shocked to find that in a business networking environment, not one of my interactions felt insincere. People here genuinely want to know who you are and want to help you succeed.

My Life Before Fuqua

I worked as a project manager for a global healthcare non-profit based out of Boston called the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. My teams worked in partnership with hospitals and governments in the U.S. and Europe on initiatives to help improve the quality of care delivered to their patients.

My Life After Fuqua

My goal is to be a leader who leverages strategy and operations to deliver a positive lasting impact both to the teammates and communities I serve. I’m excited to join DaVita as a resident in their Redwoods Leadership Development Program, where I will have the opportunity to pursue this vision.

I’m sure all of my classmates would agree: we never expected to be attending business school through a global pandemic AND extreme racial injustice across our nation. I’m extremely grateful for my BLMBAO family and the safe space they provided during this time.

What I Love About My Classmates

My classmates at Fuqua are ambitious, smart, and genuine. I was surprised to learn that the majority of students are looking to pursue social impact, whether it’s in the short- or long-term goals of their career path. I have also never been in such a diverse environment when it comes to the varying backgrounds and experiences my classmates have. The unique perspectives that my peers add to the learning experience are unparalleled.
