“Speaking in front of 200+ people at Blue Devil Weekend allowed me to face my fear of public speaking head-on. Improving my public speaking skills had been a goal of mine for a long time, and this experience is where I finally had the environment I needed to feel more comfortable!”

Why I Chose Fuqua

Every school has its unique personality, and it comes across when you engage with members of its community. Fuqua’s personality was woven through every interaction I had with members of the admissions team, current students, and alumni. When you click with everyone, you know you've found the right place. The team experience at Fuqua has also been valuable. I’ve learned that while communication is key, everyone has a different communication style. Transparency and flexibility are critical when navigating challenges faced as a team. Overcoming hurdles doesn’t happen overnight, but working through problems together rather than individually makes all the difference.

5 Best Fuqua Activities

  1. Wine Around the World—The Wine Club hosts an unforgettable evening of mingling, wine tasting, and fun facts!
  2. Treks—From Japan to Morocco to Namibia, make sure to take advantage of all the opportunities you will have to travel with your classmates. Mix it up and get to know new people on these trips!
  3. FuquaPride Drag Show—Each section choreographs and performs a dance and competes to win. Get involved, and have fun with it!
  4. Daring Dialogues—These events provide a safe space for vulnerability and thought-provoking discussion with your classmates. Take a step outside your comfort zone and attend these incredible talks.
  5. Section Friendsgiving—This holiday feast is a tradition that allows you to reflect on how important your section truly is to your Fuqua experience.

My Life Before Fuqua

I worked for American Express on a B2B partnership marketing team. I was responsible for working with both internal stakeholders and external agencies to execute our go-to-market strategies and develop marketing materials.

My Life After Fuqua

I plan to pivot into the tech space and work at an organization that aligns with my values and goals. I hope to take the skills and tools I’ve learned at Fuqua and apply them to positions with heightened responsibility in the future.

My Fuqua Activities

Admissions Fellow

Blue Devil Weekend Committee

Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE)

Being able to engage with a CASE client project was an insightful learning opportunity. My team worked together to navigate the challenges our nonprofit client faced to execute our project and apply the skills we’d learned in the classroom.

What I Love About My Classmates

The best thing about my classmates is their willingness to step up and support each other through our highest highs and lowest lows. Our community is strong because of the team spirit felt throughout everyone's interactions with one another.
