“Alumni are passionate about Fuqua. I recently had the opportunity to interview with a graduate who is the Head of Strategy for a large firm. When speaking with candidates from other schools, I learned that they had interviewed over the phone with HR.”

Why I Chose Fuqua

From the essays, to the personal admissions calls, and a great Blue Devil Weekend Experience weekend, I found the administration truly cares about your individual experience and will go above and beyond to ensure that you thrive at Duke. On top of a great academic reputation, Fuqua has unparalleled resources when it comes to career opportunities, networking events, guest speakers, and social engagements. I am really maximizing my tuition through extensive access to many events and opportunities. I also liked the idea of having an American degree but being able to spend half of the program abroad.

Before Fuqua

I worked in sales for a fashion retail company and did an internship in credit risk analysis. I decided to pursue a master's degree, so I could start my career with a more challenging role, at companies I otherwise would not have access to.

After Fuqua

My main goal is to work abroad, so I’ve focused my career search on domestic companies with international operations. This program shows my desire and preparation for a global career. As for a specific industry, I’m pursuing rotational programs in the finance field that include strategy-based rotations.

What I love about Fuqua students

I’m amazed by the eagerness of fellow MMSers, MBAs, and alumni to help. The team mentality truly differentiates this program from others. Classmates are always willing to share contact information, prep you for interviews they’ve been through, or even help you apply for the same job they are. Competitiveness never overshadows support. It’s easy to connect with MBA students who’ll take the time to talk with you about their careers and offer industry advice. The Fuqua connection also allows for accomplished guest speakers, vast networking opportunities, and access to senior-level management, because alumni remain passionate about the school.
