Reflections

The team learning approach is unique, and the level of the class is very senior in terms of experience and industry knowledge. Duke has a great legacy and the brand is prestigious worldwide, but at the same time I appreciated that my class would be relatively small. Ultimately I chose Fuqua because of the school’s extraordinary culture—even as a candidate I felt the difference. Alumni and students were all very open and passionate about the school, and the admissions team demonstrated that they were looking for the right fit as much as I was.

Before Fuqua

As an Alternative Funds Manager at Credicorp Capital, I was responsible for product development as well as raising capital for third-party funds in Peru.

After Fuqua

In my new role I am now responsible for business development worldwide, raising capital for third-party funds in Peru and investment funds around the world.

My Favorite Course

The Six Domains of Leadership concept in our leadership course gave me a strong overall framework for interacting with colleagues and clients. As soon as I came back from my first residency, I started using the new tools. This helped my organization better focus on our priorities and made me a stronger leader. An important insight came from learning about the “contextual domain” of leadership which clarifies who we are and how we work together. I decided to make this a personal focus, and ultimately was able to deliver better and more effective messages in meaningful ways within my firm.
