“Initially, it was uncomfortable taking the lead on team assignments where I was unfamiliar with the subject. Over time, I learned that my C-LEAD team is a fail-safe, judgment-free zone. I learned to tap into the collective knowledge and ask for help without fear of being judged.”

Why I Chose Fuqua

Fuqua’s culture resonated strongly with me. Fuqua’s core tenets of leadership revolve around building intelligence (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ), and decency quotient (DQ). These values summarize the type of leader I want to be – decent, intelligent, and emotionally balanced. I decided that Fuqua was the best place to learn this style of leadership. I also met some amazing Fuqua students during pre-MBA events, and I could picture myself learning and growing alongside them. I wanted to be part of a community that was authentic. A place where people care about what they do, and are true to themselves, and explore their passions. I found that at Fuqua.

My Life Before Fuqua

I wrote proposals for process automation and digital transformation projects in the energy/oil and gas industry. I worked in teams to design solutions to help companies make their processes and operations more efficient.

My Life After Fuqua

I am pivoting to a career in consulting. I want to utilize the tools and learnings gained during my time at Fuqua to solve challenges around operations, technological transformation, and growth strategy for clients in the private and public sectors.

My Fuqua Activities

Center for Energy, Development, and the Global Environment (EDGE)

EDGE sessions with thought leaders from the energy industry have helped me understand my role in the global discussion around sustainability.

My Favorite Professor

Dr. Jeremy Petranka’s managerial economics class is engaging and relatable, and his teaching style made economics one of my favorite subjects to study at Fuqua. His classes helped me to understand the reasoning behind some of the decisions that my previous organization made.
