Communication was key for my family and job as I considered applying to Fuqua. As I matriculated, communication remained at the forefront. I was able to balance my family, career, and school by articulating my priorities to all parties involved. My family and job knew my exam schedules well in advance; likewise, my Fuqua teammates knew when I had to turn my attention from school to produce a work deliverable or attend to family matters. If anything, I learned that I didn’t have to multitask so long as I communicated and worked with others as a team.
I provide legal support to Wells Fargo’s strategic sourcing group and other lines of business by way of drafting, negotiating, and managing various third-party contracts. I also manage a team to handle company-wide compliance initiatives.
I plan on joining another department within my company in the capacity of a Chief Administrative Officer or a Chief Operating Officer, allowing me to apply both my legal background and business training to manage business units and generate value to my company at a higher level.
Earning my MBA is about more than seeking an increase in salary. More importantly, I expect this experience to lead to additional career opportunities, sound decisions for family finances, and a deeper contribution to my community by way of the boards on which I serve.
