“My peer team is a beautiful melting pot of perspectives, lived experiences, educational backgrounds, opinions, careers and passions. Although we may come from varying backgrounds, what unites us is our desire to make sense of the health care data around us and use these insights to improve health care.”

Reflections
I’m exposed to loads of data on a daily basis, and I became curious about all of the health care data around me. I wanted to uncover meaningful insights from the data I was working with, but I knew I didn’t have the programmatic skills and tools to do so. This led me to pursuing this program, where I knew I could acquire the skills and exposure I desired. Since joining the program, I am not only interested in uncovering stories from health care data but have become interested in the ways we can use data insights to help drive business decisions – which is such an important topic in health care right now.
I work as a clinical data associate at a medtech startup where I complete data management for a variety of medical device studies ranging from pilot to phase lll trials. A large part of my role includes cleaning data, database changes, systems validation and resolving data queries with clients.
After Fuqua I hope to go into health care consulting where I can apply my newly acquired skills in analytics and business fundamentals.
My Favorite Professor
I love Professor David Ridley, who teaches our Health Care Institutions & Policy and Life Sciences Strategy courses. You can tell he’s super passionate about the topic of health care and the questions he asks in class really get you to think at a deeper level. He’s super engaging and I always love going to class – also he loves anything and everything Duke!
