I completed an academically rigorous undergraduate program in biology, however, I wanted to transition to business. At Fuqua, I knew that I would be able to get a slightly different business perspective than in the UK, which would be beneficial since I want to work in the U.S. I also had the opportunity to play field hockey on Duke’s team. Getting to play field hockey at the top collegiate level in the U.S. while getting a master’s degree was something I couldn’t pass up.
Hockey has played a major role in my life. I have played in local clubs, at university, and in the England Hockey development pathway. A highlight from my hockey career was being a captain of the Cambridge University team.
I am leaning towards pursuing a career in consulting. Being passionate about sports and neuroscience/psychology research, I am keen to pursue a career at a company that is shaping the world of sport, or that is working towards biological scientific advancements.
I can’t quite believe the diverse backgrounds that my classmates have, and how different each of our educational systems were prior to Fuqua. It’s interesting that we each have had such different academic and work experiences and yet are all together learning the same courses and helping each other out.
