"It was surprising how the online classes felt identical to in-person classes: during the pandemic, I learned from a program specifically well-designed for online learning, had real-time interactions with my classmates and built up my network, and applied what I learned to advance my career."

Reflections

We live in a world where data has become one of the most important assets. Being able to manipulate, extrapolate, and analyze information from the massive amounts of data generated every day is an incredibly valuable skill to have. Duke’s MSQM program is a perfect fit for me because it allows me to leverage Fuqua’s resources to learn while expanding my personal network in different industries. When I had the opportunity to visit Duke University last year, I was impressed with how amazing the Fuqua community is and it made me proud to be a part of the Fuqua community.

Before Fuqua

I worked as a data analyst for a live-streaming company. I automated most of the operation’s manual workflow; worked with massive datasets to generate actionable insights to drive business growth; reported to upper management about the business performance and made suggestions on how to improve.

After Fuqua

Fuqua’s degree opened lots of doors for me! After I put MSQM on my LinkedIn profile, recruiters started approaching me about numerous opportunities, including Facebook and Amazon. Eventually, I got an offer through what I learned in MSQM to work for my dream company, Facebook!

Advice to Prospective Students

Be bold and open-minded. Even though the MSQM program is an online-format degree, it differs from other online degrees in two aspects: real-time interaction with your professors and classmates, and the offline connections to your teammates. Take advantage of the virtual class sessions in asking questions and participating in classroom discussions and extend your network offline with your classmates.
