I believe that personal growth requires an important component; education. I knew that the core curriculum of the Weekend Executive MBA program would give me the tools I needed to get to the next level in my professional career while having the flexibility to continue my job and personal responsibilities. Without a doubt, this experience has allowed me to improve my skills to achieve better results and lead a team to success.
I was a business development manager at Grupo Phoenix; my role was to lead development and sales implementation of rigid packaging and manage action plans by category to achieve targets.
I was promoted to director of non-food business development of U.S. operations; I am accountable for bringing new business to the company and leading a team under this new category. I plan to one day start my own business that leverages my packaging and foodservice knowledge to have an impact in Latin America.
Being a parent while completing the program is manageable, but support from your family is essential since getting an MBA requires time, discipline, and consistency. For us, it was a matter of determination and compromise for a better future.
