Why I Chose Fuqua

I was admitted to several business schools, but my decision was easy to make. I had the privilege to visit Fuqua and meet many of the amazing students. The fact that Fuqua is one of the top business schools in the world was an important part of my decision, but as a married, international student, my wife and I were also looking for a warm and family-like community that would make the transition easy.

5 Tips for Coming to Fuqua with Your Family

  1. Get your family involved—Bring your family to events and tell them about your class experiences and classmates.
  2. Spend time with your family—It’s easy to spend a lot of time at Fuqua, but make it a rule to spend time with your family.
  3. Understand their difficulties—In most cases, your family left their old life for you, understand that adjusting to a new place and people might be hard.
  4. Explore what Durham and the area have to offer—Getting to know the city and the area is one of the steps of making it home.
  5. Live in Fuqua-preferred locations—Most Fuqua students live in the Ninth Street area or other popular locations. Your family will adjust better if they are surrounded by families in the same situation, and can help each other.

My Life Before Fuqua

After three years in the Israeli Navy, I decided to pursue a degree in accounting. After graduation, I started working as an accountant, both on the audit and the corporate side where I also worked as a business development vice president. As an auditor, I had the privilege to audit companies from different industries and got to know their operations and decision-making process. On the corporate side, I had the chance to experience marketing and launching new products together with managing budgets and improving revenue margins.

My Life After Fuqua

I would like to continue working in financial functions with an emphasis on leadership roles. My dream is to work in a place where I can grow and reach high-level management positions.

My Fuqua Activities

Accounting Teaching Assistant

MBA Association Cabinet Member

Fuqua “Supportive Ambition” Paired Principle Award Winner

Fuqua Soccer Club

We play soccer together once or twice a week, host gatherings to watch important games, and send a team to play in soccer tournaments against other business schools.

What I Love About My C-Lead Team

My team consists of brilliant people with rich and impressive professional backgrounds, yet they also have the most important qualities—friendship, mutual support, personal integrity, and looking out for each other. Such a combination of qualities in the C-Lead team creates not only a wonderful educational and professional experience but also friends for life.
