I chose Fuqua because of its emphasis on teamwork and its extensive alumni network. Before applying to schools, I knew that I wanted to work in the Asia-Pacific region and I wanted to work in a creative, dynamic, and diversified place. The program setting of Duke Kunshan University could provide me with a diversified environment and insights into the Chinese market.
I was a public relations intern at eBay. I worked on identifying growth opportunities in commercial kitchenware for Chinese cross-border e-commerce sellers and drafted market manuals based on research and analysis on internal data. Before eBay, I worked as a business analyst intern at Kantar.
Thanks to the Career Management Center at Fuqua, as well as my amazing classmates that gave me encouragement, shared their experiences and insights, and pushed me to think about myself really hard, I found that I am interested in technology, media and telecom and health care. I would like to pursue a career as a marketer or a consultant in either of those industries.
I love the forests in Durham. Every time I walked to Fuqua, I would go by a small lake and forests. I have even seen deer and rabbits walking in the bush! I grew up in the Jiangsu Province in China, where forests are not so near to where I lived. I also loved the people in Durham. Almost all the people I met were kind and friendly.
