Duke University is recognized as one of the best schools in the U.S. and its graduates have made a significant contribution to the scientific, business, and sports communities. I chose Fuqua because of the coursework and the impact that Fuqua's alumni make globally. I’ve always been inspired by the outstanding achievements that Fuqua alumni have accomplished in business. It’s appealing to have something in common with individuals from the companies that shape our world. Being a part of the culture and sharing the same Fuqua identity with some of the most notable CEOs and investors inspires every ambitious young person.
I have worked across different roles in financial services. My role before Fuqua was in investment banking where I conducted competitive and industry analyses and coordinated due diligences processes. I hope to return after Fuqua.
I hope to land a job in the investment banking industry. However, breaking into this competitive industry requires well-rounded individuals, and recruiters focus only on the candidates from top institutions. I believe that Fuqua can offer me the preparation and resources necessary to accomplish my goal.
I took part in the Finance and Private Equity Clubs. I enjoyed the industry-focused events, where experienced professionals from the financial sector help students during their recruiting and decision-making process, and am grateful for the insight into the industry. However, what I personally found most helpful is the technical interview preparatory sessions that are free for all Finance Club members. Of course, the Finance and Private Equity Clubs are not the only clubs at Fuqua. There are organizations for every industry on the market, such as entrepreneurship, venture capital, or consulting clubs. In fact, you are encouraged to establish an entirely new club with your colleagues if you want to.
