I was at a point in my professional development, where I had figured out my strengths and knew what I wanted in a future job. To be able to assess more precisely where and in which industry I saw my future, I wanted to exchange experiences with people from different backgrounds. Fuqua’s focus on teamwork, it’s international outlook, program format, and small class sizes all gained my interest and seemed to be a perfect fit.
I interned for Lufthansa Consulting and worked on a variety of projects including the restructuring of an airport in Russia and establishing a transformational framework for future acquisitions. I also interned at a small private equity firm where I took a closer look at two targets in the surface technology business segment and their valuations.
I would like to work in consulting, preferably financial consulting. After working in this sector for a few years and building up necessary skills, I am planning on becoming a senior manager at one of the S&P 500 firms.
I joined the tennis club and have met really interesting people from the Daytime MBA program. It makes it much easier and more fun to get to know people informally, rather than setting up a meeting or coffee chat. The open-minded and family-oriented culture throughout Fuqua and Duke makes networking even easier, as people care about you and want to know your story.
