“I am a completely different person than when I started the program. I have a better sense of who I am and what my strengths and areas for development are. Most importantly, I have met people who have had a lasting impact on my life and who will continue to be close friends.”

The Fuqua network influenced me before I even stepped foot on campus. When I was working on my application, four of my colleagues were alumni, and they guided me along the way in preparing me for the rigor of the program. Since the program started, my classmates have been instrumental in giving me insights into their respective industries and how they have risen to become leaders at their organizations. They have also influenced how I think about managing and prioritizing family life and my own personal interests.

Before Fuqua

I was a Marketing Manager at Verizon responsible for leveraging data to transform and simplify our customers’ experiences in the digital app and website.

After Fuqua

During the program, I accepted a role at Uber Technologies on their Product Operations team. I plan to continue my career in the field of data analytics and strategy to become a senior leader at my organization.

5 Best Experiences

  1. Before the program orientation, it still hadn’t settled in that I was a student at Duke University. The first commute down to Durham was when reality started to kick in and the excitement took over.
  2. Orientation was extremely overwhelming, but it was so much fun! The team-building exercises were exciting, and it was an opportunity to get to know my classmates and create lifetime bonds.
  3. Any game at Cameron Indoor Stadium is insanely high-energy. My first game happened to be when Duke faced Virginia, the #2 team in the country at the time, but we had Zion Williamson. Enough said.
  4. Fuqua gave us the opportunity to have our significant others join us for a Partners Weekend in Durham. It was great to meet the most important people behind the scenes who help to make it all happen—our loved ones!
  5. Three of my classmates and I took a weekend trip to Chicago, where I was able to attend my very first Cubs game!
