“I did not have a lot of connections when I first came to the U.S. but now I have a circle of trusted friends and supporters here: my fellow first-year classmates, second-year peers, alumni, and career mentors. They all truly care about my career as well as my personal development.”

Why I Chose Fuqua

As an international student, I did not have the opportunity to visit Fuqua, meet students in person on campus or sit in on any classes. Most of my business school research was based on admission events in Vietnam as well as phone calls with current students and alumni. From these connections I realized what set Fuqua apart - these people were supporting my ambitions and made me feel that I could find a second home at Fuqua. I am blessed to join a team of diverse, intelligent, and supportive people who look out for each other and care about both the collective success of the team and the individual development of the people within it.

5 Ways to Spend a Saturday in Durham

  1. The best way for me to start a Saturday is to have brunch and catch up with my friends. Monuts is the best donut and brunch spot in Durham.
  2. Head over to Duke Gardens for a walk. Spring is the best time of year when the cherry blossom trees are in full bloom and the gardens are covered in a blanket of pink and white.
  3. For rainy days, Nasher Museum of Art is definitely a great choice. It is an incredible gallery with rotating exhibitions.
  4. When the sun is out, it is amazing to have a beer and soak up the sun at Ponysaurus Brewing. It is a dog-friendly place, so people really take advantage of that! Dogs are everywhere; my urge to pet all the pups is off the charts!
  5. The perfect way to end a Saturday is with live music at Motorco. They have an impressive schedule of shows and activities to choose from.

My Life Before Fuqua

I was a management consultant. I helped leading organizations in South East Asia solve their most complex issues by optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of their business model and operations.

My Life After Fuqua

I will be interning at Adobe in San Francisco. As a strategy and business operations manager, I will work on end-to-end strategic planning and execution to solve critical business challenges. This internship will help me to achieve my career goal of bringing technological solutions to companies that will enable them to drive digital transformation and provide exceptional digital experiences for their customers.

What I Love About My Classmates

I am impressed by my classmates’ commitment to leadership development as well as their desire to strengthen the school community. It is always fascinating to see how my friends are hungry for feedback, learning, and growth. Students here strive to become better leaders and to be servant leaders for the community.
