“When I first started at Fuqua, I was a headstrong leader, always leading from the front. At Fuqua, I learned to take the backseat and sometimes follow rather than lead. It has led me to think more carefully and make fewer mistakes, all while learning and broadening my thought process.”

Why I Chose Fuqua

After taking a part-time job in the wine and spirits industry, where I eventually want to build a career, I realized that I needed more foundational skills to run a business. I decided to look for management programs that catered to people without full-time work experience and found MMS to be the perfect fit for me. With its strong focus on the fundamentals of business and its industry-relevant curriculum, the program was perfect to prepare me for the types of roles I want to pursue. I also admired Fuqua’s work hard, play hard environment.

Before Fuqua

While working at my family’s business, which imports and distributes wines and spirits across the subcontinent, I realized how many necessary business skills I was lacking. That realization, along with my goal to one day change the Indian wine landscape, led me to pursue an MMS degree.

After Fuqua

I plan on working at a major spirits company in the U.S. to gain insights into manufacturing and corporate culture. I will then return to India and join my family’s business, using what I’ve learned at Fuqua to oversee business development and management.

Why I Love Professor Sharique Hasan

Professor Sharique Hasan taught us Strategy and has been the best professor I have ever had. From the very first class, his knowledge and enthusiasm clearly showed and led to an extremely interesting class every session. His method of teaching inspired me to think outside the class boundaries and apply the teachings to the real world and applications that mattered to me. I believe his class truly changed the way I approach problems in a way that no other course has.
