“The professors do a fantastic job of presenting the material in an approachable way that is applicable across many industries. I have found that this has given me the confidence to readily apply new techniques in my job in an effective and precise manner as soon as we learn them.”

Reflections
Throughout my career, working with and deriving insights from data has been a constant joy for me and an area that I knew I would want to improve. The MSQM: Business Analytics curriculum was the intersection of technical data analytics skills and business perspective that I wanted in a master’s program. The opportunity to learn current analytical techniques from the faculty of a top business school, while being able to work full-time, was a dream come true. The effort that professors put into developing coursework that is not only relevant to today’s corporate environment but can also be applied immediately in my day-to-day job continually reaffirms my confidence in the decision to attend Fuqua’s MSQM program.
I work for a large quantitative asset manager on their trading team where I am responsible for the trade execution of several event-driven strategies including mergers/acquisitions and SPACs (special purpose acquisition companies.)
I look forward to pairing what I have learned as a trader with the analytical tools that Fuqua has provided to begin positioning myself as a leader responsible for data-driven change.
My Advice to Prospective Students
Take advantage of every opportunity to interact with your classmates. It is an incredibly diverse group with unique backgrounds and experiences who all bring a different perspective. Your calendar will likely be full between classes, work obligations, and family but make sure to find time to talk with your classmates to make personal connections and learn from the incredibly talented individuals in your cohort.
