Rufaro Mushavi
“Through my teammates, I have learned the importance of spicy hot pot from the Hunan Province of China and grasped the art of Bhangra, a Punjabi form of Indian dance. Working with people from different backgrounds has taught me the importance of diverse opinions and unique approaches to problem solving.”

Why I Chose Fuqua

While I was considering Fuqua, all of the conversations I had emphasized Fuqua’s team spirit and how its support system extends beyond the current classes to create an unimaginably valuable alumni network. Already, I have been taking advantage of this network—this year I was a part of the Career Advisor alumni mentoring program for MMS, which paired me with an alumnus who acted as a mentor in my job search. Fuqua also provided me the opportunity to learn from world-renowned professors at a phenomenal institution. It was clear to me that Fuqua's approach to experiential learning would be essential in expanding my business knowledge.

Before Fuqua

I worked in financial services and at a nonprofit where I got the chance to work with dynamic and intelligent individuals and discovered my passion for learning. I decided to pursue the MMS to expand my business knowledge and discover which industry I found most exciting.

After Fuqua

After graduation I want to go into finance. During my time at Fuqua, I have taken advantage of all of the resources provided to ensure my technical capabilities in this field. I hope to explore financial due diligence and work for a firm that strives to deliver the greatest value to its clients.
