Why I Chose Fuqua

My partner attended Fuqua a year before I started. During this time, I was living in Durham and interacting with other Fuqua students through Fuqua events and social activities. Even though I wasn’t yet a student, I felt like I was part of the Fuqua community, a community that is supportive, encouraging, and full of truly impressive individuals. Some of these students encouraged me to apply to Fuqua and were influential as I worked through the application process by providing valuable insights and advice. This support is a perfect example of the Team Fuqua culture, and I knew I wanted to experience it myself as a student.

 

Five Best Fuqua Activities

  1. Fuqua Friday – A Fuqua classic, Fuqua Friday provides a fun way for students to socialize with each other at the end of the week. Free food, free drinks, and fantastic people, what else could you ask for?
  2. FuquaVision – Our low-budget equivalent to Saturday Night Live (although definitely not filmed live), FuquaVision gives students something to laugh at and bond over.
  3. Spending the day at the U.S. National Whitewater Center – I love doing outdoor activities so being able to spend a day at the U.S. National Whitewater Center with my classmates was such a fun experience!
  4. Guest Speakers – Fuqua brings amazing guest speakers to campus so I try to attend as many as I can to absorb their knowledge and wisdom.
  5. Formal – Easily one of my favorite nights at Fuqua so far, formal was an absolute blast, and it was nice seeing all my classmates and friends dressed to the nines.
