Why I Chose Fuqua

I liked the team environment of Fuqua and the academic structure that uses real-world examples and cases. I also liked the diverse network that Fuqua has all over the world and the number of opportunities to participate in outside of the classroom. After working in my family business in Nepal, I decided that the MMS program would help me sharpen my business skillset. The diverse environment has brought about a change in my perspective and has transformed me.

Before Fuqua

I worked for my family’s business in Nepal where I was responsible for the national supply chain, distribution network, and sales of VIVO smartphones throughout Nepal.

After Fuqua

I look forward to working in the U.S. on the business side of the tech sector. I’m interested in the tech industry because eventually, I want to leverage the skills that I have learned to start a successful tech business in Nepal.

5 Best Fuqua Activities

  1. MMS Association Events—These are fun events such as tailgates, pumpkin carvings, and sports tournaments to help get to know your classmates better.
  2. Campout—This has been my favorite Fuqua event! Graduate students camp out all weekend for a chance to get season basketball tickets at a discounted price.
  3. Fuqua Friday—Every Friday evening there is free food and drinks provided to the Fuqua community. It’s a good chance to network and meet other people at Fuqua.
  4. Triangle Training—This is a team-building exercise in the middle of the woods where there is no cellphone service. It’s a really fun event!
  5. Rise Against Hunger—An event where the Fuqua community gathers together to give back. Meals are packaged and distributed through global partners of Fuqua to schools, orphanages, and others in need.

What I Love About the Fuqua Soccer Club

The soccer club is my exercise and stress relief during the week. It is also a great way to get to know people in other Fuqua programs. We travel together while participating in tournaments such as the Yale Cup and MBA Soccer Tournament at UT Austin. This gives us a chance to bond with each other and network with people from other business schools.
