“My learning team embodied the diversity that I wanted from my business school experience. We came from all different industries and also had representation from different parts of the U.S. and the world. I loved how we all drew on each others’ strengths but also allowed each other to learn and grow in new areas.”

Why I Chose Fuqua

I loved the sense of community that I felt from the moment I stepped on campus for my interview. All of the students that I met were interested in me and my goals and were passionate about Fuqua and its community. In talking to students and alumni, it was clear that the community embodied everything that I was looking for: authentic, humble, brilliant people who genuinely want to make a positive impact in the world. Of course, Duke basketball also helped influence my decision.

5 Random Things About Me

  1. I traveled to France with the Fuqua Ski Club over spring break to ski in the French Alps. It was a blast, even though the trip did get cut short due to COVID-19.
  2. I am very close with my younger brother and sister; we have even gone bungee jumping together.
  3. My cat is the current love of my life, although I do want to own a dog someday.
  4. I love soccer and am on the Fuqua United team; I played in the MBA soccer tournament in my hometown of Austin during my first year.
  5. I am not a great cook, and I’ve been using quarantine to attempt to improve my baking skills; so far, the results are mixed at best.

My Life Before Fuqua

I worked in sales and management for a variety of industries. While I loved managing people and the thrill of closing a sale, I was drawn to the strategic side of the business and wanted to continue to grow my skill set and business acumen.

My Life After Fuqua

I will be joining McKinsey & Company full-time as a consultant and aim to work primarily with healthcare companies.

Health Care

I helped plan the Health Care Conference during my first year, which introduced me to alumni in different professions. I also completed a project to gain consulting skills within the healthcare space.

What I Love About My Classmates

My classmates are some of the kindest and most enthusiastic people that I have ever met. I knew that they would be smart and have professional successes, but I never imagined how nice a group of high-achieving people could be. They are committed to advancing social causes and helping improve society, but also care about helping each other be successful in academics and recruiting.
