Why I Chose Fuqua

I wanted to be a part of a collaborative educational environment with classmates who would inspire me to grow professionally and personally. I knew I would perform my best in a program where I felt a strong sense of community and belonging. Students at Fuqua go above and beyond to support each other in all aspects of student life on campus. I saw Fuqua as a place where I could achieve my professional goals and become the best version of myself along the way.

5 Tips for Maximizing Your Time at Fuqua

  1. Join student clubs and organizations. Fuqua has a wide variety of student clubs, and they’re a great way to meet students outside of your section with similar interests. I’ve made some of my closest friends through Fuqua’s clubs!
  2. Take time for self-care. Business school can be a chaotic time—between career recruiting, academics, and student activities, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Try to find time each week for an activity or hobby that helps you feel relaxed and reenergized.
  3. Embrace academics. Commit to excelling academically, engaging in thoughtful discussions in the classroom, and growing your professional skill set.
  4. Ask for career mentorship. The Fuqua community is there to support each other. Reach out to your classmates, faculty, the Career Management Center, or alumni for career guidance and support.
  5. Try something new. Your time at Fuqua is a unique opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and take risks. Whether it’s taking a class on a subject you are unfamiliar with, joining a new club, or learning about a career path you never considered, business school is the best time to explore different opportunities.

My Life Before Fuqua

I was the co-founder of Empactful, a financial technology robo-advisory startup, or an online wealth management firm that focuses on impact investments for both retail and institutional clients. I worked as COO and CMO of the firm, as well as lead the software development team as a product manager.

My Life After Fuqua

I plan to pursue a career in venture capital after graduation. I am confident that the quantitative academic curriculum and the corporate finance concentration will allow me to be well equipped to evaluate future investment opportunities as an investor.

My Fuqua Activities

Corporate Finance Concentration

I have found that the academic coursework has been completely transformational for me. The faculty has helped me understand concepts in-depth, and my classmates have inspired me to think critically about real-world problems.

My C-LEAD Team

The experience working with this team has been one of the best learning opportunities at Fuqua. While my team members all came from different professional, educational, and cultural backgrounds, we all shared the same values and academic goals.”
