Reflections

Fuqua is incredibly challenging in all the right ways. I knew if I enrolled in the GEMBA program I would get a great education, make connections, expand my global community, and put myself in a position to say yes to opportunities that I may not be able to otherwise. Additionally, I have a HealthTech startup and I’m excited to partner with leaders from the Duke Innovation & Entrepreneurship ecosystem to evolve the business plan and model for the company.

Authenticity is key to maximizing your experience in the GEMBA program. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable provides an opportunity to be met with acceptance, compassion, and understanding throughout the journey. The Fuqua faculty, administrators, your classmates, and the larger community are the avenues available to maximize your experience and accomplish the goals you set for yourself. If you show up as your true and best self, you’re best positioned to have your efforts reciprocated.

Before Fuqua

I partner with sports league executives to define live video streaming and advertising solutions across Warner Bros. Discovery media platforms that scale revenue and content interests. I manage a team of technical and operations managers and business analysts that support NCAA March Madness, NBA, and Bleacher Report.

After Fuqua

After graduation, I plan to re-evaluate myself as a leader, specifically acknowledging areas of expertise added to my portfolio from learnings at Fuqua. I’ve become a dynamic leader with translatable skills that can be applied across business in a role that allows me to have a significant impact.

5 Things You Must Do During a Residency

  1. Maximize your time with your classmates in social settings.
  2. Eat at as many restaurants as possible.
  3. Participate in ALL of the “optional” program events.
  4. Get ahead on your team and individual assignments.
  5. Explore the city during free time.
