“I have learned how to be a more sensitive leader when working with a team of individuals with diverse skills. I now know how to take time to understand the dynamics and different personalities of my team before helping to leverage people’s different strengths to move the team forward.”

Why I Chose Fuqua

I chose Fuqua for its academics, its network, and its opportunities. After a 6-month internship, I wanted to further develop the skills and knowledge needed to prepare me for a career in consulting. I spoke with various mentors and friends, and during these conversations, Fuqua came up multiple times as a potentially good fit. I also fell in love with joining the Fuqua community I had heard so much about, where I would become part of a group of people who see my success as theirs (by the way, this is not a myth!)

Before Fuqua

I worked with an internal consulting group prior to Fuqua and experienced firsthand the importance of consultants, who act as problem-solvers for organizations. This inspired me to pursue the MMS degree because I knew there were gaps in my knowledge of certain aspects of business. I also wanted to polish other interpersonal skills, such as further defining the role I play in diverse team settings, my leadership style, and public speaking skills.

After Fuqua

After completing my program, I hope to go into consulting because I know it will not only challenge me, but it will also provide opportunities to leverage the skills I have developed at Fuqua and help solve business problems across various industries. I am also open to exploring opportunities within other industries, such as technology and finance.

What I Love About the Business in Africa Club

I look forward to getting involved with Business in Africa because I am from Nigeria. Coming from a continent with so much potential yet so many obstacles that hinder development, I look forward to discussions with like-minded individuals who are just as passionate as I am about bringing innovation and new perspective to Africa.
