Accelerated Master of Quantitative Management: Business Analytics Student Trevor Crogan

“I didn’t expect to find the thoughtfulness that the program administration has put into the curriculum and supporting resources. I was pleasantly surprised by Fuqua's efforts to make an outstanding professional student experience beyond the classroom. They’ve made a concerted effort to foster relationships and provide students with additional learning and career support.”

Reflections

After only a few classes, I was able to start applying what I learned in the program and I have continued to apply new concepts to my work from then on. One of the first things I was able to take to work was optimization modeling from the Decision Models class. I created solutions to several staffing scenarios using an optimization technique that I learned in the course. I now constantly see opportunities in the workplace to automate and improve processes by using the skills and concepts that I learned in class. Through this new lens, I have significantly increased my productivity and provided new insights and outputs to benefit my company.

I have worked in various roles in Customer Support, Consulting, and Analytics at SAP. In my most recent position at SAP, Business Insights Analyst, I provided analytical support to our customer experience global leadership teams. I was tasked with helping shape the business's strategy by finding crucial insights in post-sales customer engagements.

I recently joined the People Experience and Technology Solutions team with Amazon. In a short time, I’ve reaped the value of my Fuqua education and benefited my new team by bringing fresh perspectives and new ideas to the table. Ultimately, my goal is to lead a team of analysts and data scientists to answer tough business questions and provide meaningful insights.

The Benefits of an Online Degree

There are several benefits of taking the MSQM: Accelerated Business Analytics program online. I am able to receive an outstanding education from a top university without having to uproot my life and move across the country. Additionally, the mixture of synchronous and asynchronous lectures provides the best of both worlds: the engagement of a live class on the weekends and the flexibility to get coursework done on my own time during the week.
