Chris Bade has over 30 years of experience in leadership positions with global technology-driven businesses, as well as management consulting, and as a U.S. Marine. Chris currently serves as the Vice President, Global Service, where he has responsibility for service strategy and profitability of a team of close to 400 engineers and technicians who perform installation, after-sale service, and support of equipment throughout the world. Chris is also responsible for leading identification, evaluation, and integration of acquisitions for the L3 Security & Detection Systems Division (L3 SDS). He most recently led two successful acquisitions: a bolt on asset purchase and a strategic stock deal that nearly doubled the size of the division. He has held several other senior positions within the division, including leading international sales, running a product line, and creating a business development team.

Prior to joining L-3 SDS, Chris held various positions with L-3, including President of the Electro-optic Technologies Group of four diverse businesses. He came to L-3 from Raytheon, where he was President of the Commercial Infrared business that was purchased by L-3. Earlier in his career he was Vice President, Strategy and Business Development for Raytheon and held various positions with Textron, EDS/AT Kearney, Arthur D. Little, and ARCO Oil and Gas.

Chris began his career with the United States Marine Corps, where he attained the rank of captain, was a marine aviator, and served with the infantry. He has an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and a BS in Geology and Geophysics from Boston College. Chris also is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a U.S. Coast Guard Charter Captain’s License for ships under 50 gross tons.
