CMC Bios - Doug Mayes

Experience & Expertise: 

Doug's career began in recruitment, connecting engineers with great employers. His favorite part of work was helping job seekers tell their stories authentically. No one's career path is random. We may have to zoom out to see the connections. After progressing into marketing leadership at a national employment website, in 2010 he pivoted into higher education joining Arizona State University's MBA CMC. At Fuqua, Doug supports our diverse body of international students and serves employers in the manufacturing space. He loves teaching and speaks frequently on sociological research related to our work lives. He takes pride in being the CMC's social science nerd and is usually respectably well-dressed.

Fun Fact:

Doug plays the saxophone semi-professionally in jazz and R&B settings. He recently added the occasional vocal to his repertoire. His love for music, art, and philosophy is an important part of his work with students.
