Experience & Expertise:
As the Career Coach for Social Impact & Sustainability, Sandra has the privilege of guiding students through some of the most meaningful decisions of their professional lives... and loves it! Whether she's creating tailored resources, analyzing data to inform strategy, or cultivating relationships with mission-driven organizations, her work is rooted in supporting students to find meaningful roles. Sandra collaborates with Net Impact, ALMA, the Food & Agriculture Club, and, this year, Consortium Fellows. Before Fuqua, she worked in Duke’s Office of Community Affairs, connecting the university to local nonprofits, and advised undergraduates on impact careers at the Duke Career Center.

Fun Fact:
In her 20s, Sandra worked in Ecuador as the International Programs Lead for a Spanish institute. Sandra supported students as they navigated a new environment for the first time. She led weekly cultural orientations that covered everything from greetings and politics to how to properly dispose of toilet paper. Travelling with her students allowed her to visit Machu Picchu 10 times!
