Sharique Hasan is an Associate Professor of Strategy at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Sharique studies social networks, careers, and entrepreneurship. His research has explored how networks help people learn complex ideas, and what types of network connections enhance individual and firm performance. His recent work examines the effect of increasing digitization on individual and firm performance.
His research is published or forthcoming in leading journals including Strategic Management Journal, Management Science, Organization Science, the American Sociological Review, and Administrative Science Quarterly. He also serves as an Associate Editor for Management Science and is on the editorial boards of Organization Science and Strategic Management Journal.
At Duke, he has taught the core Strategy class for the Masters in Management Studies program as well as the Global Executive MBA. He has been recognized for his teaching with the Excellence in Teaching Award in 2018 for the MMS:DKU program.
Professor Hasan received his BS in Computer Science and Philosophy from Rutgers College and his Ph.D. in Organizational Theory and Management from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College. His doctoral dissertation won the Herbert A. Simon Doctoral Dissertation Award. Prior to Duke, Sharique was an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
