"Team Fuqua means helping your community and giving back in whatever way you can, with a real focus on lifting others up. It’s about prioritizing the collective, thinking about the long-term impact we can have together, and finding joy in supporting each other’s journeys. It’s a place where you want to see others succeed just as much as you want to succeed yourself."

Why I Chose Fuqua
I chose Fuqua because I wanted to be part of a community that truly values both IQ and EQ, and it shows in every interaction—from classmates to alumni. The supportive environment stood out immediately during my conversations with current students, who showed up with honesty, encouragement, and real excitement about their Fuqua experience. I was also drawn to opportunities like the Fuqua Client Consulting Practicum, where I could apply what I am learning in a hands-on way. More than anything, I knew I wanted to grow in a place where collaboration, leadership, and care for others were not just values on paper but lived every day.
Before Fuqua
Before Fuqua, I built my career in People and Development at Spanx, focusing on aligning talent strategy with business goals in a mission-driven environment. I led initiatives across performance management, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness, partnering closely with senior leadership to drive growth and retention. This experience reinforced how much I value working for companies with a strong mission and showed me the impact people practices have on business success.
After Fuqua
After graduation, I plan to work on strategic initiatives that help mission-driven companies grow and adapt. I want to apply what I am learning at Fuqua—from developing a stronger strategic mindset to leading with both IQ and EQ—to drive impact in organizations that prioritize both business success and broader purpose. Long term, I hope to help shape strategies that balance growth with lasting positive impact.

Discovering Durham: Food, Festivals, and the Outdoors
I love that Durham feels like a small town but still has so much to do. There is always a new restaurant, festival, or local event to explore, but it never feels overwhelming. Being surrounded by nature is also a huge plus—there are so many trails, parks, and places to spend time outdoors. I also enjoy learning about the history of Duke and Durham, which adds a lot of character and depth to the community.
