Jenny Laurence
"The first-year MBA experience has pushed my resilience—and that of my peers—to a whole new level. The six-week terms keep you constantly on your toes; just as you get comfortable, something shifts your priorities, plans, or confidence. It’s been a fantastic journey, and as the year has progressed, I’ve become more intentional about embracing the unpredictability that comes with it."

Why I Chose Fuqua
I believe successful leaders bring their whole selves to work. From the very beginning, I felt that Fuqua truly valued 100% of every individual in the program and encouraged us to show up as our best, most authentic selves. The “25 Random Facts” application prompt was a refreshing signal of that ethos—what other MBA program asks you to lead with personality?
On a slightly lighter note, I thrive in warmer climates—and the skies in Durham, NC, are almost always bright blue. It’s hard not to see the joy in that!
Before Fuqua
The first six years of my career were spent in London as a brand strategy consultant, supporting some of the world’s largest brands in their purpose and brand innovation projects. With a growing desire to work in tech and live in a different market, I moved to Australia and began consulting for mission-driven tech start-ups. The experience broadened my skillset and helped me identify areas for growth—and it also confirmed that the tech sector is where I want to be.
After Fuqua
My ambition is to pursue impactful roles in the tech sector—building and promoting phenomenal user experiences with teams that ask great questions. At Fuqua, I’m sharpening my strategic thinking across markets and business functions, deepening my understanding of commercially viable innovation, and learning to lead diverse, high-performing teams. These skills directly support my goal of driving software products that solve real problems and make people’s lives better. I was thrilled to apply this knowledge at Adobe this past summer!

Tech That Translates, Experiences That Resonate
Tech isn’t just an industry—it’s a layer that touches every business and sector. The skills you develop in this space are incredibly transferable. I’m especially energized by the challenge of shaping new business models and navigating uneven patterns of consumer adoption. It requires constant curiosity and adaptability. Above all, I’m passionate about creating user experiences that feel intuitive and meaningful.
