"At Fuqua, I didn’t just refine my leadership, I stepped into the woman I am: a strategist, creator, and The Corporate Fashionista who leads with both intellect and edge. With seven years of building companies, leading global teams, and creating spaces where purpose and ambition coexist, I came in already shaped by resilience and vision. Fuqua pushed that further. Here, I learned to trust my voice, sharpen my strategic instincts, and embrace the truth that strategy and style are extensions of identity. Duke showed me that my creativity, presence, and perspective are not extras; they’re advantages. Fuqua affirmed that I’m not just building a career, I’m building culture."

Why I Chose Fuqua
I chose Fuqua because it was the first place where I could be both ambitious and deeply human. As a creative entrepreneur and purpose-driven leader, I wanted a program that would strengthen my business acumen without asking me to shrink my identity, my curiosity, or my values.
From day one, Fuqua felt different; the energy was collaborative, not competitive. I met leaders who cared as much about impact as outcomes, and a community rooted in the Decency Quotient, where kindness, humility, and integrity aren’t optional, but expected.
I was also drawn to the Triangle’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem, where bold ideas are built across Duke, UNC, and NC State. Fuqua allowed me to bring all of myself, to lead with both strategy and soul, and affirmed that purpose and performance are not opposites, but partners.
Before Fuqua
Before Fuqua, I spent six years turning raw ideas into real-world impact across startups, consulting, and health tech. I co-founded a tech-enabled care platform that secured nearly $2 million in investment, built its go-to-market engine from the ground up, and led cross-functional teams across the U.S. and Nigeria, long before business school ever entered the picture.
When a business partnership dissolved, I stepped into one of the most defining pivots of my career. I moved into project and product management, helping companies scale, redesign customer experiences, and drive meaningful transformation. I also supported health-tech organizations on strategic growth initiatives that sharpened my instinct for clarity, my ability to build structure in chaos, my capacity to anchor people in purpose, and my ability to lead with both precision and heart.
Those years were my crucible of clarity, where pressure shaped my purpose. They taught me resilience, integrity, and the discipline required to lead people through uncertainty. They also revealed the truth of who I am as a leader, someone who designs with intention, solves the problems that matter, and creates spaces where others can rise. That clarity is what ultimately led me to Fuqua.
After Fuqua
After graduation, I plan to join a strategy or innovation team within the technology, retail, or luxury industries where culture, creativity, and business intersect. My goal is to help brands navigate digital transformation, understand the modern consumer, and remain culturally relevant.
Fuqua has affirmed my commitment to being an audacious, purpose-driven leader. I’m leaving with sharper strategic thinking, deeper global fluency, and a stronger belief in my ability to influence outcomes through inclusive, values-anchored leadership.
Alongside my full-time role, I’ll continue growing Women’s Space into a global media and advisory platform that equips ambitious women to lead, evolve, and thrive. Long-term, I envision running Women’s Space, along with other creative and strategic ventures, full-time within the next seven to ten years as I build a portfolio that lives at the intersection of leadership, culture, and innovation.
5 Tips for Maximizing Your Time at Fuqua
-
Be intentional, not just involved. Fuqua offers endless opportunities, but real impact comes from depth—not just activity. Choose experiences that align with your purpose.

Build across difference. Some of your most transformative conversations will come from people who think nothing like you. Lean into those.
-
Be fear-forward. Some of the best things you’ll do here will start with doubt. Say yes before you’re ready. Do it scared—growth lives there.
-
Use Durham and the Triangle. The entrepreneurial and cultural ecosystem beyond campus is a hidden gem. Tap into it early.
-
Bring all of you. Your background, identity, and passions aren’t distractions—they’re differentiators. Fuqua thrives when you do.
