Bio

Samuel L. Taggard is Executive Vice President of Strategy and Portfolio Development at AMS Management Group. His responsibilities include business strategy, strategic investment, partnerships, special projects and new business development focused on creating value for AMS Management Group members. Samuel is also the Co-Founder and COO of Adaptrack, a personalized behavioral nudge platform for physician teams to tackle risk blindspots and unlock efficiency opportunities.

Prior to AMS, Samuel spent nine years at Cigna Healthcare in a variety of roles including Strategic Business Development, National Contracting, Value Based Product Development and Enablement. Most recently, he was the Enablement Lead for CareAllies, a Cigna business focused on supporting providers with their transition to value based care. During Samuel’s time within Business Development, he was part of the core deal team driving the Pharmacy Benefit Management strategic outsourcing initiative that resulted in a partnership with Catamaran. Within this role, Samuel also spent time helping drive the creation and structuring of Cigna Ventures. Prior to joining Cigna's HealthService Leadership Program in 2009, Samuel practiced as a physical therapist in a variety of clinical settings while at Beth Israel Deaconess and HCA's Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Samuel attained a BS in Economics and Finance from Bentley College as well as both a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Duke University School of Medicine and a Masters of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
