Reflections
I chose to pursue the MSQM: Business Analytics degree at Fuqua for two primary reasons. First, with a bachelor's degree in business, I sought to expand my existing knowledge without relearning what I had already covered. This program enables me to focus on specific topics in analytics, providing the perfect balance of reviewing business concepts and in-depth exploration of how data is leveraged in various functions.
Second, I wasn't ready to leave my life in California. I have a fulfilling job and value being close to my family. The flexibility of this program enables me to maintain my work and life while continuing my education at a prestigious university. Fuqua's commitment to quality education, combined with the ability to study remotely, made it an ideal choice for my professional and personal goals.
Before Fuqua
As a Workforce Strategy Consultant, I help organizations optimize their workforce planning and talent management strategies. My responsibilities include analyzing workforce data to identify trends, developing actionable insights, and recommending strategies to enhance employee engagement and productivity. I collaborate with clients to design and implement workforce solutions that align with their business objectives, ensuring they have the right talent in place to meet future demands.
After Fuqua
Upon completing my MSQM: Business Analytics degree, my primary goal is to enhance my ability to make data-driven decisions and integrate advanced analysis into my work. I see a great opportunity to incorporate predictive analytics into qualitative areas like workforce management and marketing. Whether I pivot to a new career or deepen my expertise in my current role, I look forward to leveraging the knowledge gained from this degree to drive recommendations that improve people's experiences.
Most Surprising Aspect of the MSQM: Business Analytics Program
The most unexpected aspect of the MSQM: Business Analytics program has been the strong friendships and sense of community I've developed. The program's smaller size allows for the opportunity to create a close-knit environment. Everyone is genuinely friendly and motivated to enhance their knowledge. My classmates are incredibly supportive, and we often help each other learn while sharing plenty of laughs. I initially thought building a community in a virtual setting would be challenging, but the team system and tools like Microsoft Teams have made it easy to stay connected and engaged with one another during and after class.
