Dear Fuqua alumni,

As we confront the outbreak of COVID-19 worldwide, Duke University has announced a series of measures the university is taking to minimize health and safety risks to students, faculty, staff and the broader community. You can read the full statement from President Vincent Price; ongoing updates for the Duke community about COVID-19 are available on this website.

The measures outlined by President Price include canceling or postponing Duke-sponsored gatherings both on campus and off campus between now and April 20. In accordance with this policy and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our community, we will unfortunately have to cancel several upcoming alumni events, including some that are scheduled after April 20:

  • Fuqua Around the World, scheduled for March 25, will be canceled. We appreciate the hard work of our many volunteers around the globe in organizing this event, and we hope to see you at a future Fuqua Around the World.
  • Fuqua Reunions 2020, scheduled for May 1-3, will be canceled. For those who have already registered, we will be refunding your registration fees. If you reserved a hotel room in Durham for reunion, please contact the hotel directly to cancel your reservation. We are exploring the possibility of inviting this year’s reunion alumni to join us for next year’s Fuqua Reunions on April 23-25, 2021. More details will be forthcoming.
  • Alumni Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, scheduled for April 30-May 1, is postponed to April 22-23, 2021. Those who have registered for this year’s event will receive a refund.

We enjoy opportunities to bring together Team Fuqua, and we share your disappointment at having to cancel many of our spring events. Thank you for your understanding and your support of fellow alumni as we confront this unprecedented challenge. We hope that you and your families are well, and please know that Team Fuqua is thinking of you through these trying circumstances.

With warm regards,

Hank Woods
